Morning

Sunday 18 April 2004

It’s 6 in the morning and I’m at loggerheads with myself whether I’d go running or check out the gym… I’d slept a litte late, so I finally decide, a walk it will be. Come to think of it, I’d never trade my little morning odysseys for anything in the world. Imbibing all the sights and sounds and smells (sans the noxious kinds) of the early morning is a newfound delectable experience in itself for me :)

I hit the street. There’s a cute little white kitten precariously perched atop some rubble in the neighbourhood. She’s peacefully asleep, oblivious to the rising din and bustle outside. …funny how such a simple sight can seem so endearing. I move on.

Behind a building I spy a tower top gleaming golden in the rising sun: a little tiara for a staid building, a silhouette in gold. …Like my sister would say…

Heaven is a place on earth

You bet, sis. You couldn’t have been more right.

The sun is up, shining with all its might, painting the city a different hue altogether. The enchantment is wearing off… I turn around heading back home, elated in my joie de vivre.

A bird twitters in the neighbourhood. I hasten my pace — have some homework to do, a different serenade altogether.

…The end of yet another matutinal odyssey.

Sleep well, kitty!

Hey loggerheads ….I never could never imagine gym is in anyway part of your life! Hmmm morning walk, especially in Pune is kinda a thing that you would never wanna miss unless you have lazy bones like me…

    … yeah cats ….

And wooo… Lookie heree… I inspire people? Wow, that’s good… Hmmm. BTW waking up early doesn’t happen all the time.

… The other day, one lazy evening I was asking the other folks at home to think of the first animal that comes to their head when they think about all of us… Guess what you were: polar bear.

About the previous message … Let’s see… Hmmm … Here’re the highlights: You’re a polar bear baby for sure — go figure. Gud would be a blue whale — swimming the dark ocean depths — in a different world altogether … I’d be a white shark — hmmm… all deadly :) The whole list is too long… will post it sometime later. Just so you know: there’re quite many cows, a hyena, more pigs (YUCK!), a smelly cat, giraffes … guess I got a little carried away… Peace, man ;)

Wonder what you’II write in my slambook, if I ever make one….I cannot fit your ‘ocean dark depth’ analogy anywhere….may be I’m in a different world!!!

  7. aseeja says:

i so much wanna know why i a polar bear … hmm…but gud as a blue whale rocks … except that he’ll be after little blue whales all the time ( i hope gud reads this … he knows )

  8. Debajit says:

Maybe you’re just the warm bear-ish kinds. Not exactly the koala kinds though — they’re not all that ursine ya see…. That would be Varun Malik — a Giant Panda … What was the Gud chasing blue whales thingie about?

  9. amitgud says:

    blue whales….hmmm I wish I could!!!

Anyways aseeja did I tell you that our junior, MG, was looking for you all over the coll. the other day… ;)
